Christmas is just merely days away! What are you bringing for your Christmas dinner? Don’t stress, today I am showing you how to make a cake with 2 ingredients and also an easy white chocolate Christmas tree cake topper. Now I got this recipe from Dollar General and it’s their Coca-Cola® Easy as Cake! Recipe

So what are these two ingredients? They are any box of cake mix, I of course chose chocolate, and a 12 oz can of Coca-Cola. I am not kidding you do not need anything else to bake this cake. The Coca-Cola takes place of the water, oil and eggs.

What You’ll need

Cake

  • Coca-Cola
  • Box of Cake Mix

Decorating

  • Can of frosting
  • Wooden Skewers
  • White chocolate chips or melting chips
  • Food Coloring
  • Zip lock bags
  • Wax or Parchment Paper

In a mixing bowl combine the box of cake mix and the can of Coca-Cola. Mix until smooth.

When you are done mixing take a look. It looks just like cake mix but you want to know the best part? You can lick the bowl or the spatula because there is no eggs in it! That is a win in my book.

Spoon the mixture into two round cake pans. How long should you cook it? I followed the cook time on the back of the box and checking it a few minutes before to make sure I wasn’t over cooking it.

While the cake is cooking or cooling this is a perfect time to start making your white chocolate christmas trees. Cut your skewers down to size. Place one down on a piece of wax paper. In the microwave or a double boiler start to melt your white chocolate in small batches. With chocolate you need to work fast. Make sure not to burn it because it can burn quick but also quickly stir in your food color and spoon it into your sandwich bag.

Cut the tip of the bag and start to pipe over the skewer. Go left to right and swoop back. In order to make a christmas tree add a little more width to each line. Let the chocolate completely dry before touching the tree. Repeat this making two more trees of a different shade of green and also a different size.

I still can’t believe how easy this recipe is and how it taste like a moist cake. Take the cake out of the oven and let it cool before frosting.

Now we could get all fancy and make our own frosting but why when a can, can also be so good! Once your cake is cool frost the first layer and place the second layer on and also frost it. Now I don’t like my cake frosting to be perfect when I am doing a topper. Especially since my topper is a bit abstract and imperfect itself.

White chocolate Christmas trees

Place your trees onto the top of your cake and push the wooden skewer into the cake. These trees add both height and dimension to the cake that will impress your friends and family this Christmas or holiday party.
