I’m not sure if I have mentioned this in the past but I don’t sew. It is just something I had never really picked up. I think I was more of a crafter and my sister was more of a sewer. Well not that sewing isn’t a craft. Lately as I drop off my pants to be shortened or check out the cost of curtains I find myself thinking why can’t I sew? Maybe it’s time to learn. I went even so far to make a pinterest board titled “
I found myself pinning a lot of hoop art and then I came across Flamingo Toes 26 FUN AND FREE EMBROIDERY PATTERNS. I thought this would be a great launching point into sewing. Not to mention she had a Scotty retro camper pattern and I had a friend’s birthday coming up that would love it!
Today I am sharing one of my favorite Summer projects over at Creative Ramblings! You may remember Creative Ramblings from Sarah’s Paper Flower Topiary last month. We had such a great time with her guest posting on my blog I decided to hop on over to her blog for a post.
Check out step by step how I made this old rocking chair look brand new and what extra steps were taken to make sure it could weather the outdoor elements. Check it out here.
The Silhouette Challenge has coordinated another great event! Similar to the card swap a few months ago and handmade gift exchange was organized. Each participant was randomly paired up with a partner. You were challenged to get to know your partner and create a handmade gift for them.
My partner is Melissa Stout from The Stamp Doc. We had a great time getting to know each other and secretly coming up with gifts that we would both enjoy. Melissa loves to cook and I had been dying to etch some more glass! So it worked out perfectly.
It’s wedding season and it’s also that time again, the second Monday of the Month, the Silhouette Challenge! This month’s theme, patriotic projects, fit nicely with a project I was working on for a Wedding Shower. The bride and groom-to-be are in the Navy and just got back from deployment. Now talk about a couple that has travelled! Even before their deployment they had been on a 2 week European excursion together, the date is even set this fall to get married abroad and they are currently apartment searching in Naples, Italy where they will be stationed for the next two years.
This might be my greatest Etsy find of all! I had to devote a whole post to the cuteness of the shop Chicks in Hats. I don’t even know if I need to say more the pictures speak for themselves! Enjoy!
We thought yesterday was going to be a wash but it was the perfect day to go yard saleing. We started out early in the morning and by 1pm we has made it to eight sales. Since we have sold through most of our inventory at Brimfield we have to start pickin’ for the September show.
It’s been a few weeks since we have done a Etsy Finds but you asked and it’s back! I think etsy changing its look yesterday got me inspired to be on the prowl again for amazing one of the kind items. Hope you enjoy and let us know in the comments if we should keep up with etsy finds every Friday. We love feedback!
Wedding season is in full swing which means there are a lot of wedding showers coming up. Can you believe I have five weddings to attend this summer….yes FIVE! I am at the age where all of my friends are getting married. Good thing I love weddings!
This past weekend one of my best friends since high school had a wedding shower at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, MA. This was one of the best showers I had ever been to! It was so amazing that in the coming weeks I will be dedicating a whole post to it.
