Cheesy Mashed Potatoes

The easiest way to make cheesy mashed potatoes with sour cream. A creamy, decadent, filling side dish that will please a crowd!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold Potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1/2 Cup Half and Half or Milk room temperature
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tbsp salt
  • 1/4 tbsp pepper

Instructions

  • In a large pot, cover potatoes with water and add a generous pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and cook until softened, 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and drain potatoes. Place back into the pot.
  • Add butter and mash potatoes. Gradually adding in sour cream, half and half, shredded cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  • Mash potatoes until smooth and enjoy!
