Back to School: Printable School Subject Labels and Silhouette Challenge

Weekend Craft.png

I can't believe it's been two months since I have participated in a Silhouette Challenge! The last few months were a little crazy with a few weddings and moving into a new house but I'm back and ready to participate in the rest of the challenges for the year!

August's theme is Back to School. For the week leading up to this challenge I have not been able to stop humming Adam Sandler's Back to School song from the movie Billy Madison.

Back To School...

While I am not in school nor do I have any children that are I was a little stumped as to what to create. I thought back to prepping for back to school and even the first week of school and I remembered always covering all my books with my Mom or Dad with brown paper bags. Then I would go to town decorating them (no surprise there). Now even to this day my handwriting is atrocious. I would ask any one else (besides my brother who has even worse handwriting than me, sorry Jeff) to write the subject on the book cover before I decorated it.

To solve this dilemma I have decided to make printable subject labels for book covers for this months challenge. Now if you are thinking I don't have a silhouette I should stop reading here, don't you worry I also have a printable PDF for you too!

The labels include Math, English, History, Science and also two blank labels for other subjects. I created the designs and then with the trace feature created an cut outline.  Now I used Silhouette white sticker paper and you could also use avery sticker paper.

Now printing from the silhouette studio program is easy, just make sure to add your registration marks before printing. File > Registration Mark Settings It will pop up on the right hand side and make sure to check off Show Reg Marks. Then you are ready to print and cut.

I have to make a confession here. I think this was my first time wrapping a book in probably 15 years! I had almost forgot how. It's a little different than wrapping a gift!

If you liked how these came out and want to create them yourself please feel free to download the free Silhouette Studio File or the PDF. These files are not to be used for commercial use or resale.
