How to make Halloween treat bags. Free printable to make these Halloween trick or treat bags.
Every year I make DIY halloween treat bags for my trick or treaters. Making these bags ahead of time allows me to pass out candy easily or put out a halloween table for trick or treaters to just grab one without any contact.
Growing up my mom always made these bags. She told me instead of kids fighting over what candies they wanted she would hand them these cute bags. Neighborhood parents also appreciated the effort she put in.
Today I’ve created a free printable so you can make your own treat bags. Want a different design? Check out this one here.

Print and trim
You can use either white card stock or printer paper to make your halloween treat bags. I used regular printer paper. I printed a few of each page of the treat bag printables.
Since the bag tags are rectangular it’s easy to cut with a paper trimer.
Halloween Treat Bags Designs
There are two designs a purple trick or treat with a fun spooky spider and a festive happy halloween with bats.
Fold your Bag tags
Once you cut out your bag tags simply fold it in half. I like to fold them all at the same time. To make an easy assembly line when putting the bags together.
Add Fill your treat bags
Open your cellophane treat bags and add Halloween candy or small treats. You can also add small toys for an allergy friendly trick or treat option.
Staple your bag tags
Grab your stapler and fold over the top of your cellophane bags. Sandwich the bag with your printable tag. Now you can adhere the bag with tape or my recommendation would be to just staple it right on to the bag.
Love these! I think I might use a little wider ziploc snack bag. Then I will hole punch on each end of the tag and use yarn to do a little knot.
