My sister recently bought a house in the Spring and since then she has been tackling DIY projects left and right. I loved this project so much that I had to share. She gave a fresh new look to her hand me down childhood furniture. She had the idea, possibly Pinterest inspired, to use lace to paint her bedroom set.

This is one of her three piece white (painted) French Provencal set. I think she got this over twenty years ago as a hand me down.

As you can see this was quite the project. It took over her garage for over a week. She painted the drawer fronts and shells to each of the dressers.

Taping off the fronts of the dressers to create crisp lines to spray over the lace.

Key step- (DONT SKIP) on the back of the lace spray a light coat of spray adhesive (make sure it is repositionable). Press it down firmly on the drawer front spray a coat of white spray paint wait 10 seconds then peel it off.

Tip-Make sure to spray from a distance for even coverage.

I loved her color choices it is a great contrast making the dressers look upscale and chic.

Always make sure to use a finishing spray. This makes the painted piece less likely to chip.

This just proves that you don’t have to go out and spend hundreds even thousands on a bedroom set. Give some of your older furniture a little love. The great thing about older furniture is that it is actually made out of solid wood to with stand the test of time. Allowing it to easily be updated and adapted to fit your style.
