A plus size clothing review of Arula formerly A’Beautiful Soul. Stylish and trendy plus size clothing store for size 10-24.

Arula Plus Size

Arula has recently become one of my favorite plus size clothing stores. I was not aware of it before last year. So I figured I needed to share it with everyone. While many plus size options seemed to be geared to an older crowd or style, Arula clothing feels young and trendy.

This is not a sponsored post. I just think this clothing brand needs more visibility. The quality and selection is really great compared to other plus size clothing in the market.

Arula is owned by Altar’d State and used to be called A’Beautiful Soul before it was rebranded to Arula.

Arula store locations

I am lucky enough to have an Arula store location about a half an hour from me (outside of Boston). I have noticed Arula is expanding with new store locations. They are usually attached to a Altar’d State store. You can see if theres a store near you here.

While Arula is only in the United States right now they do ship to Canada.

Arula Sizing

Arula carries women’s sizes 10-24 and XL-3X. Arula’s sizing is unique to them instead of 1X to 3X they have X, A, B and C. Check out their size chart here.

Does Arula run true to size?

Arula’s sizes tend to run large or generous. I am a 3x/24w across the board and I can fit in a B or a C when it comes to tops and dresses. I’ve heard their jeans and run large but when I tried them on in store they felt true to size for me.

Arula’s dresses tend to run a little short. Keep in mind I am only 5’2. Once the weather starts to get colder I will pair the dresses with these microfiber tights.

Does Arula have sales?

Arula typically has sales. Their price points are a bit on the higher end (shirts in the $60s and dresses in the high $70s). I always wait until they are having a BOGO 50% off sale. They typically have BOGO dresses, shirts and jeans. They rotate their sales weekly. I almost never buy full price.

Arula has a great sale section. A lot of times items are under $20-30. I will say the sale section in the store tends to be better than online.

Arula Alana Dress (size C)

Lana Dress

This monochromatic black dress reminds me of plaid or a buffalo check. It’s subtle but I think you could easily wear it for the holidays. It’s more of a mini dress. It can also be worn off the shoulder. I paired it with some microfiber tights and Chelsea boots.

These Chelsea boots come in wide width and are memory foam. They are like walking on air. If you have a hard time finding boots that fit your calves like me these are a good option. I also have these boots as well and they are fantastic.

Arula Daniela Top (Size B)

Daniela Top

The Daniella top is one of my favorite baby doll tops. I love it so much that I own it in multiple patterns. This is one of the tops that I can wear it slightly more fitted in a size B or oversized in a size C. It runs big because it is meant to be a bit oversized and flowy.

The top is pleated tiered with a lettuce edge trim detail. It can be worn casual, dressed up or even layered in the colder weather.

Daniela Top (Size C)

If I like it I’ll get it in another color or pattern. This floral pattern is super cute for fall. Look at this cute burgundy pattern it’s perfect for the holidays. I am just waiting for them to come out with a Daniela top in long sleeves. I will be the first in line to buy it.

Arula Dresses
Tallulah Dress (Size C)

Tallulah Dress

The Tallulah dress is my favorite dress from Arula. I may own it in multiple patterns and sleeve lengths. I bought this floral dress for my birthday this past Summer. It was my go to dress for almost every event this summer/Fall.

I love that it’s fitted at the waist with elastic but the skirt and sleeves are flowy. It’s such a flattering fit. I am also love the tiered skirt which I have shied away from in the past.

Arula
Tallulah Dress Long Sleeve (size C)

When I saw the Tallulah dress come out in a longer sleeve for Fall I knew I needed it. I think this will be a great holiday dress or even Thanksgiving. Pair it with some tights and booties. I am ready for colder weather.

Arula Plus Size
Fifi Dress (Size C)

Fifi Dress

The Fifi dress reminds me a lot of the Daniela top. It has pleated tiers and is a flowy babydoll dress. Not only is it flattering but it is comfortable. I wore this dress a lot this past Summer. It could be dressed up or comfortable enough to throw on and effortlessly look put together to run errands.

Best part about this dress?! It has pockets.

Arula Review

As you can tell I am a big fan of Arula. The quality of their clothing along with the trendy styles is is hard to come by. But with the pros comes some cons. Not many but some. I think they have an opportunity to be even more size inclusive extending to sizes to 4x/5x. Or better yet carrying Altar’d state items in inclusive sizes so we can shop the whole store.

I love their dresses but I do think they could be a little longer. I also would love to see more midi length options.

Overall I am a big fan and will continue to check out what’s new in store and share with you guys on IG when I get some new items or when a sale is going on. Make sure you’re following along on Instagram where I share more plus size fashion find and deals in my stories.

Sharing is caring!
