Fall in New England there is nothing I look forward to more. With the Summer being so hot we anxiously await cooler weather, the changing of the leaves, apple picking and wearing layers.

As I start to pull out my Fall wardrobe and hit the stores for a refresh I am seeing many emerging trends for this Fall. I wanted to share some of them from a plus size girls perspective. While some are new and some are here to stay these are the 8 Fall trends I am embracing in 2019. Stay up to date on Plus Size trends over on Instagram

1. Animal Prints- Leopard Print

Leopard print seems to be the biggest trend this Fall and I am all about it. There is just something about a redhead in leopard that just makes her hair pop. I first started noticing this trend in footwear around the office then all at once the leopard dresses and sweaters started to appear.

I have also noticed lots of tiger stripes, cheetah and snake skin. This cardigan is going to be In rotation all Fall and Winter I cannot believe I got it for under $20 at Walmart

We also cannot ignore the other print trend of the season, camo. Check out my favorite camo dress here

2. Emerald

Have you ever had your colors read? Back when I was in girl scouts I remember getting this done. I found out that I was warm tones for makeup and jewel tones for clothing. You know what’s a jewel and a color I lean towards? Emerald.

Now I believe this trend is converging with the interior design world which happens often. If you have been scrolling through your IG feed or watching HGTV who hasn’t seen an accent wall in this color?!

I believe every girl should own a moto jacket. There is just something about it that make you feel bada$$ and ready to hit the town. This Eloquii Botanical Green Moto Jacket is no exception.

3. Fringe

I’ve had my eye on this Rebecca Minkoff suede fringe bag for a few years. When I saw it pop up on @ItsHadrian IG. I knew I had to have it even if it was gently used. It’s giving me 70’s retro vibes and makes me want to use the hashtag #FallFringe. Who doesn’t love an alliteration?

4. Plaid

Now if you know me you know my love for buffalo check plaid. We’ll this fall I decided to expand my love to all plaid. This skater dress from Torrid is perfect for Fall but also versatile enough to add a cardigan or jacket for Christmas or holiday parties. I can’t wait to share a few more plus size plaid dresses that are perfect for Fall and the holidays.

5. Midi Length

As a short girl (5’1) I am so happy with the midi trend in dresses and skirts. I can never find a maxi short enough without it getting it altered. The midi length is almost maxi for the average short girl and I am here for it. The midi length dress will get you through the cooler weather without reaching for tights or some leggings.

Can you believe how much Walmart is rocking these Fall trends? Another fun leopard print dress for under $20

6. Seventies Throwback

Another trend popping over from the interior design world. We are throwing back to the details of the 70’s. Yes thats right this Fall bell sleeves, flare jeans, fringe and the colors rust and mustard yellow are back. And I must say I rolled my eyes at first but now I am rocking bell sleeve, fringe and mustard yellow. I just can’t seem to being myself to rock the Flare jeans again. So for now let me show you my new dress that is sure to make an appearance this holiday season. Can you believe it’s from JcPenney?

7. Sherpa

Now this is a Fall and winter trend I can get behind. It gets super cold here in New England. Last year I was all about the Sherpa and I lived in the pullovers from November until March. One of the most sought after coats of last year was the teddy bear jacket. What a silly name but I am glad this trend is here to stay. I picked up this off white pull over at Walmart for under $20.

8. Capes and Kimonos

Capes and kimonos are an effortless way to layer and to look put together this Fall while being comfortable and cozy. In fact I am a fan of kimonos all year. They are versatile over dresses or with a camisole and a pair of skinny jeans.
