New England Artisan Gallery

Recently I stopped by the New England Artisan Gallery. Now I pass this show atleast once a week and yet I had never been in. I wasn’t even sure what was inside. I am so happy I stopped because this store was meant to inspire me.

I find it only appropriate that the week that I am heading out to Brimfield, the nations largest outdoor antiques market, that I share this gem with you. It is also the reason that I have been a little MIA in posting this past week. It maybe a little quiet on here but I am constantly posting on instagram if you are missing us.

The NE Artisan Gallery is owned by Stephen and Christine Staples of Plainville, MA . They focus on celebrating and telling stories through furniture made from salvaged wood and items from age-old homes and barns throughout New England. Stephen has been making furniture for over 34 years.

The absolute highlight of this shopping trip was that there were these little signs scattered throughout the store.

I could not have said this better myself. Your home should not all match or be bought at once but collected over time and tell a story.

It’s funny when I go antiquing or pickin’ I wonder in 50-60 years from now what will there be to pick. Solid wood furniture is a thing of the past. Even if you think about the old metal toys and trucks, everything is made from plastic now. It is a sad reality.

I am a sucker for anything teal. If you haven’t noticed that already.

Such a great idea. I know what I am going to be searching for at Brimfield. Turning an old ladder into shelving ingenious! I know I have seen a version of this mass produced but there is just something about actual salvaged goods that makes it worth the hunt!

Furniture that have stories just make for better pieces to have in your home. They help make your house a home. The table above was actually made from a New England farms goat gate and a roll of copper sheeting.
