Welcome to my home as I bring you through room by room to share my Christmas decorations.

Welcome to the 2017 Christmas tour of homes. Myself and 25 other bloggers, over the course of the week, are opening our doors and inviting you to stroll through our homes as we deck the halls. Make sure you stick around until the end to hop on over to everyone’s homes.

I have been dying to share my house with you since the first week of November… yes my tree went up right after Halloween. I am that kinda neighbor. I love to decorate my home so I can enjoy it for more than a month. If my trees are still up in February then you are free to judge ;).

Kitchen Christmas Decor

Now let’s start in my kitchen because after spending a year renovating it we should always start in the kitchen!

At first sight there is just a slight nod to Christmas with wreaths hanging from the freshly painted cabinets. On closer inspection you will see Rae Dunn canisters adorned with red ribbons and reindeers hanging from the stove handle.

But when you turn around the Christmas spirit is alive and well. As a Rae Dunn enthusiast I told myself that I wasn’t going to get any Christmas items this year or go overboard… That lasted until about Thanksgiving. While I haven’t completely gone overboard I mixed my everyday collection with some Christmas items. Want to decorate your Rae Dunn for Christmas? Myself and other Dunnies share how to decorate for Christmas with Rae Dunn here.

Living Room

Let’s walk down the hall and wander into the living room. I am so proud of my mixed metals farmhouse christmas tree this year. I had a vision and it came through and on a budget! I updated last year’s tree by just buying $11 worth of ornaments. Although I did after a lot of research to buy the Hearth and Hand galvanized tree collar. I have wanted a tree collar for years but could not find one at a reasonable price until this year. Read all about my tree collar research and see my faves here

I may have mentioned that I love to decorate but I stay on budget each year. How do I do this? The previous year after Christmas I shop clearance. Last year I hit up both Joanns and Home Depot when they hit up to 90% off. I even was able to score this Home for Christmas card holder at Marshall’s in the city and had to carry it around for hours. I cannot wait to start getting holiday cards in the mail to hang!

This fall I went non traditional decorating with teal so I had a similar idea with my Christmas decor in the living room. I chose mixed metals and natural elements like wood, pinecones and greenery.  What fit lovely with the mixed metals was this metal Hearth and Hand letters to santa mailbox. I love this mailbox so much I wanted to figure out how to incorporate a letter to santa in a clever way. The Sunporch

You guys are getting a bit of a sneak peek I haven’t shown the sunporch yet. But I wanted to give you guys a peek of the updated buffalo check Christmas tree! I did do a buffalo check christmas tree last year but I definitely updated it this year. Adding DIY black and white buffalo check ornaments and choosing ornaments more selectively this year.

Two Christmas trees and such a small house! Why you may ask? It has always been my dream when I owned my own home to have two Christmas trees. I remember a house down the street growing up that always had two Christmas trees and I just thought that was the coolest thing. So last year being my first year in the house I decided to get another tree! I love that it give me a chance to decorate two very different trees. I like to think when I have a family of my own I will have two trees. One very similar to these and the other being more of a memory tree with ornaments from over the years.

Well I hope you enjoyed my home and I invite you to venture to the links below for some more gorgeously festive houses from some of my favorites!
