Jalapeño poppers might just be my all time favorite appetizer. Today I am showing you how to make jalapeño popper biscuit pockets using canned biscuit dough. The flaky biscuit exterior with the warm cheesy bacon and jalapeño filling is a crowd pleaser.
These jalapeño popper biscuit pockets are not only great comfort food but it’s also great as an appetizer for game day, a holiday or a party. Using biscuit dough makes the recipe very easy since making biscuit dough from scratch isn’t necessary.
What is a biscuit pocket?
Honestly I am not even sure it’s a real thing. But I had no idea how to describe this recipe. It’s basically a stuffed biscuit. It’s similar to a Kolache or a Lebanese fatayer. Maybe even a hand pie but made out of biscuit dough rather than pie dough.
What I love about this technique is that you could stuff it or fill it with just about anything. Sweet or Savory. It’s a one hand appetizer with comfort food vibes from the biscuit outside.
Jalapeño popper filling
Tried and true jalapeño popper filling includes bacon, cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese and jalapeños.
The key to the perfect filling is the mixture of cream cheese, sour cream and cheddar cheese. I have tried many different fillings over the years and this is the absolute best. It’s also great reheated.
Want to make it vegetarian or don’t eat pork? Leave out the bacon. Trust me it is still excellent.

How to determine spice level
Want to make them spicy or mild so everyone can enjoy them? Here is the secret. The more seeds you add from the jalapeño the spicier it will be. Don’t want it spicy at all? Core the jalapeño removing the seeds and white inside. This will give it a very mild spice level that everyone can enjoy.
How to fold biscuit pockets
Step 1- Roll out biscuits on a floured surface. Use a rolling pin to roll a 4-5 inch round piece of dough.
Step 2- Place a heaping spoonful of the cream cheese filling in the center.
Step 3- Take the top of the biscuit and fold the dough over the filling. Repeat this on the bottom so they overlap.
Step 4- Fold the side into a point (similar to how you wrap a gift). Repeat on the other side and bring them together at the top.
