Guys can you believe we are talking about the holidays already?! What happened to Summer or Fall? You know what I am actually ok with this because Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love decorating, crafting and receiving christmas cards in the mail! I’ve actually already figured out how I want to display them this year, but you will have to check back for that in November.

Recently I worked with Minted for my sister’s book themed baby shower and was blown away by the quality of their invitations. So I jumped at the opportunity to work with Minted again this time for my holiday cards and to offer one lucky reader a $100 gift certificate to order their holiday cards!

So let’s talk holiday cards. I am the gal that tends to save all the cards I get. I display them throughout the winter and then love to box them up and keep them. Sometimes I will upcycle them the following year for crafts, like garland or frame one as holiday art, or some I just like to hang on to as a memory or a snapshot in time. Growing up I always saved letters and I am so happy that I did because nothing warms my heart more than coming across my grandpa or grandma’s handwriting.

So what’s hot this holiday season? It’s all about the metallics, let’s face it rose gold is here another year and I am not mad about it. Embrace the metallics with real foil pressed cards in gold, silver and rose gold. My personal favorite hand-drawn patterns and lettering. Also the artistry of letterpress which I was pleasantly surprised to see the minted has expanded from weddings to letterpress holiday cards.

So what holiday card type are you? Family portrait or a beautiful holiday greeting?

Family Portrait

What I love most about family portrait cards is I can almost predict each year who I will be getting them from and I look forward to it. No matter how much time has passed since seeing them last I get a snapshot into the family’s life and can see how much they have grown every year. What I love about Minted is not only the variety of designs but the ease of the site. You can plug in the photo you are planning on using a browse the cards with your family’s photo generated onto the cards.

Beautiful Holiday Greeting

Now as a single girl the beautiful holiday greeting cards are definitely for me. They are also a great opportunity to avoid the stress of capturing the perfect family photo. I personally love these cards because it’s almost like giving a piece of art. Every year I try to choose a beautifully illustrated card that you would want to show off and display. There has even been a few years that I have framed them as part of my holiday decorations. Here are a few of my favorites and one of these might be the one I am sending out this year!

Addressed Envelopes

Let me tell you truly why I keep coming back to order from Minted. They address my envelopes. Not only does it hide the fact that I have terrible handwriting but it also make the card extra special. And it’s FREE. There’s even usually a coordinating design to the card you choose. I did this with my sisters baby shower all you need to do is import your addresses on an excel doc and upload. So simple.

  1. I try very hard to, but we miss a year every now and then. We are pregnant, and hope to announce it this year, so we are for sure sending them out!
