A maroon and gold elegant Christmas tree with pearls, golden beads and florals. This Christmas tree is so beautiful it could be in a hotel lobby.

Elegant Christmas tree with strings of pearls, gold beads, maroon ribbon, red floral accents and gold ornaments, Gold Star tree topper.

This may be the most elegant Christmas tree I have ever decorated. It is draped in a maroon satin ribbon, with gold bead and strands of pearls. Accented with maroon, blush pink, silver and gold mercury glass ornaments . Along with sprigs of gold eucalyptus and red hydrangea floral picks. Topped with a mirrored star tree topper.

What makes this tree elegant is the mix of contrasting textures and colors from the flocking, satin ribbon and pearls. Also mixing metals with the gold beads, silver & gold mercury glass and mirrored star ornaments and tree topper.

Christmas Tree Theme Inspiration

Every year I decorate my Christmas trees a bit different. I try to use a lot of the same decor that I have on hand but swap out the ribbon. The year’s elegant Christmas tree idea was inspired by stands of pearls and the idea of adding florals into a tree.

Now I hadn’t seen a lot of Christmas trees decorated with pearls. The thought of it just screamed elegance but I wasn’t sure how to pull it all together. I wanted to add lots of textures and materials but I wanted something different that made a big impact. I saw someone on Instagram drying out their hydrangeas this Fall and I thought what if I added maroon hydrangeas to my Christmas tree.

Best Place To Buy A Flocked Christmas Tree

I have owned many flocked artificial Christmas trees and I bought a new tree last year that I have had my eye on for years. This Queen slim flocked Christmas tree is beautiful. It’s so full and the flocking doesn’t shed a lot when putting it up. This is now my fourth tree from King of Christmas. I have to say their quality is great and you can usually find their trees on sale or an open box tree.

Have you always had a real Christmas tree and thinking about getting an artificial tree? Or just looking for a new artificial tree? Make sure you check out my guide to buying an artificial Christmas tree.

Now I know this Christmas tree is a bit tall for my space but I got a great deal on it during a Christmas in July sale and I know I am not in my forever home. So I am ok with my tree topper being this close to the ceiling for now. A 6.5 ft Christmas tree would’ve worked perfectly in this space opposed to a 7 ft tree.

Maroon Satin Christmas Ribbon

I was very specific in looking for a ribbon for my elegant Christmas tree. I wanted either a satin or velvet wired ribbon in burgundy. The material od the ribbon was important to me for it to truly be elegant and elevated it needed to be the right rich texture. It was very hard to find in person. I ended up finding this maroon satin wired ribbon. I think it technically might be considered a “deep red.”

I used two rolls of the 18 ft ribbon for my slim 7 ft Christmas tree. I bought 4 rolls just to be safe that I had enough. The ribbon is 3.5 inches wide. I also used floral wire about ever 12 inches to tuck into the tree to give more dimension to the ribbon. Almost creating loops while working the ribbon down the tree diagonally.

Adding Florals To A Christmas Tree

While I love adding sprigs of red berries or eucalyptus to my Christmas trees I have never added faux florals. I found these gorgeous red hydrangeas at Joann’s and they were a great quality. They did not look overly artificial. I waited until they went on sale. I truly think they are a beautiful addition and focal point for the tree.

Adding floral picks to your Christmas tree is a great way to fill in gaps or holes. Older trees or cheaper trees can tend to look a bit sparse and its a great way to add fullness or volume to your Christmas tree.

Garland

I always love to added in a beaded garland in between layers of ribbon. This year I added both a gold glittered beaded garland and strands of pearls. I love how these garlands look layered against the flocked tree. There is just something so elegant about it. The pearls are also giving off an 80’s glam aesthetic.

Mirrored Star Tree Topper

What is an elegant Christmas tree with out a stunning tree topper. I’ve had this gold mirroed star topper for a few years. I love the shape of it and it gives off a bit of an art deco vibe. Here is a similar gold mirrored star tree topper and a similar Christmas tree topper in black.

Overall I love how this Christmas tree all came together. It’s so different than anything I have ever done before. My mom’s reaction was that it was so beautiful it could be in a hotel lobby. While I truly love the layers and textures of this tree I would love to hear your thoughts. Let me know what you think of it!
