This watermelon margarita recipe is a crowdpleaser. A light, refreshing and easy Summer cocktail.
Watermelon margaritas might just be the unsung hero of Summer. Now I have ordered them out before but never did I think of making them at home until now. These margaritas are perfect for sipping on the patio or making a pitcher for a party.
Do you have to make your own watermelon juice? Nope you can find Simply Watermelon or Tropicana Watermelon juice in your grocery store. Want to make it from scratch? Go for it. Mix up some fresh watermelon in your blender.
Now I love a good margarita. It’s my go to cocktail when I am making drinks at home. Once you have mastered your base margarita recipe you can really add any mixer that you’d like.
Looking for other summer cocktails? Try strawberry lemonade vodka freeze pops, pina colada shots and strawberry lemonade margaritas.
ON THE ROCKS OR FROZEN?
I love a good margarita on the rocks. It just goes down faster and smooth. But on a 90 degree day I will get out my blender and make a frozen margarita to have on the patio.
SILVER TEQUILA OR GOLD?
For me the only answer is silver tequila and I can be picky. My favorite 3 silver tequilas are
- Hornitos
- Espolòn
- Patron Silver
Watermelon Margaritas
An easy and refreshing summer cocktail. This Watermelon margarita recipe can be made for one or a crowd.
Ingredients
- 4 oz. Watermelon Juice
- 1/2 oz. Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
- 2 oz Tequila (I prefer clear)
- Top with fresh watermelon and a slice of lime
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to your cocktail shaker. Tip if you don't have a shaker a mason jar works just fine if you strain the ice. Make sure the covers on tight and shake it! Up, down and all around.
- Now pour into a glass over ice and top with fresh watermelon and a slice of lime.
Notes
I use Simply Watermelon or Tropicana Watermelon juice.
Basil is a great addition to this recipe.
CAN YOU MAKE THIS RECIPE IN A PITCHER?
Having a party and want to make this margarita for a crowd. Just multiply the recipe by the amount of people you will have over. This will be a crowd pleaser.

SALT OR SUGAR?
Now this is all about personal preference. I am a sugar or nothing girl when it comes to my margaritas. If salt even touches the rim I just can’t do it. Want to be fancy and impress your friends? Get a glass rimmer.
