What is Whipped Coffee or a Dalgona Coffee?
Whipped Dalgona coffee is whipped sugar, warm water and instant coffee that makes a fluffy foam of strong coffee. Most serve it over a glass of iced cold milk stirring it to make a frothy beverage. As someone from Southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island it reminds me of coffee milk. Have you ever tried autocrat or eclipse coffee syrup?
How to make Whipped Coffee
Whipped coffee is really simple to make all you need is to whisk together 2 tbsp of warm water, 2 tbsp of sugar and 2 tbsp of instant coffee. The mixture will start off really dark but as you start to whip air into it, it will become a caramel color and begin to fluff up and become cloudlike.
You can whip this by hand but I strongly recommend you use a stand or hand mixer. It will save you from working out those arms!
- 2 tbsp of Hot Water
- 2 tbsp of Sugar
- 2 tbsp of Instant Coffee
- 1oz Espresso Vodka
- 1 oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
- 1 oz Rum Chata
- 1/2 cup Ice
- 1/4-1/2 Cup of Milk (Optional see notes)
Add hot water, sugar an instant coffee to a bowl or stand mixer. Whisk until it because light in color, smooth and airy.
In a shaker pour espresso, vodka, rum chata and Godiva Chocolate Liqueur over ice.
Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.Pour into a martini glass. Top with whipped coffee and serve cold. I like to stir the whipped coffee and incorporate it into the martini.
This is a strong drink. Find it too strong serve over ice with 1/4-1/2 cup of your favorite milk. Stir and enjoy!
If you like a sweeter martini you can add chocolate syrup.
Van Gogh espresso vodka is my favorite for this recipe.
Now this is a strong drink for some. Finding it too strong? Serve it over your favorite milk with ice. A yummy whipped coffee cocktail that’s great for brunch, an afternoon pick me up or to pregame and add some energy before you go out on the town.
