The most important meal at Christmas for me is Christmas breakfast. Christmas morning has always been one of my favorite holiday traditions. We wake up early and open our stockings while sipping on coffee or eggnog lattes. After the stockings are open, we have a big breakfast and then we open the gifts under the Christmas tree.
My mom liked to make things ahead of time that she could easily put into the oven while we were opening stockings like overnight french toast or hashbrown casserole. She would also bake cranberry orange bread or chocolate chip coffee cake the day before to enjoy with it.
