We all know I love buffalo check are we surprised that I did another plaid Christmas tree? Ever since I redid the sunporch this summer I could not wait to set up a Christmas tree out here. My vision was to have the buffalo check curtains in the background and the wingback chairs on either side of the tree.
Now I wasn’t sure if what the theme of this tree was going to be I really decided to just dig into my Christmas stash and see what happened.I started out with gold ribbon and I decided to combine it with two different plaid ribbons. I love that it combines red and black plaid with black and white buffalo check without being too matchy matchy with the curtains.
This year I have decided to add pops of red back into my Christmas decor. Getting back to being a little more traditional. Check out how I have done a big Christmas in a small house and what my living room and dining room Christmas decor look like this year. So grab a Christmas margarita and let’s start decorating.

DIY ORNAMENTS
Most importantly add a personal touch ornaments to add a personal touch to your tree or keep yourself on budget with some DIY Ornaments.
- DIY Mercury Glass Ornaments
- Mini Embroidery Hoop Ornaments
- Snowflake Ornaments
- DIY Buffalo Check Ornaments
Put a bird on it
Growing up my parents always had two white doves on their Christmas tree and they were connected by a ring they both were carrying with their beaks. To me every tree I have needs a bird or 12. It’s just something that makes me nostalgic for that family tree.
Unconventional tree toppers
I don’t usually like the traditional tree toppers you find in the store. In fact I usually try to find something else to repurpose as a tree topper. This star is actually a wall hanging I found at a local antiques shop. I modified it to become a tree topper.
