Watch out etsy art world. Crimson Crane Studios is about to take you by storm. One of the most talented artist I know who happens to be on of my best friends is launching her etsy shop. Her illustration and painting style is playful, vibrant and has a sense of whimsy to it. She is actually the one who taught me how to watercolor, which I don’t nearly do often enough anymore.
Latest from the Blog
I was taking some much needed time off from writing and crafting this week, not planning to post until Friday. But I came across these amazing girl scout cookie recipes last night and just couldn’t keep them to myself. I am not sure if it is just because I am constantly thinking about girl scout cookies or because I just bought about 8 boxes from the girls outside my grocery store but I have cookies on my mind!
The blogger I stumbled upon through instagram last night is Something Swanky (desserts and design). And let me just tell you her website is adorable! But enough about that what about the cookies! Here are some of her Girl Scout cookie recipes I have on my list to make.
With Earth day coming up Etsy has been featuring a reclaimed section and we all know how I feel about upcycling! I love that the movement is becoming embraced nationally. Here are some of my favorites that I have come across over the last couple of days.
And don’t forget today is your last chance to enter the Silhouette Portrait Giveaway!
I am constantly on the search for glue either I have run out or I have the wrong glue for the project I am working on. Did I mention this happens constantly?! I think I could drive to Michael’s with my eyes closed.
There are just sometimes you try to use a glue stick and even though it says it dries clear, it dries like shown above. Which is frustrating when you sit down to craft for a set period of time but you don’t have the correct supplies needed for the project.
Cards are something that I have always tried to make. Let’s face it cards are expensive and if you aren’t sentimental the ones off the shelf usually end up in the garbage a month or two after receiving them. This is why I try to make cards. One I think they are a little more meaningful and two I like to make a card that you would want to put out on display!
This month I joined up with a group of 26 crafters and bloggers for a card swap. How it works is that I make 26 handmade cards mail them out to the organizer and two weeks later I will get back 26 unique handmade cards. How fun! Now I have been diligently working on these cards for the past couple of weeks and am finally ready to mail them out and anxiously await for the unique 26 to come back in the mail. I’ll be sure to share them in the coming weeks.
Make sure to stay until the end of this post for a chance to win a Silhouette Portrait!
If you’re like me than you have way too much jewelry (mostly costume) and not enough storage. You spend half your time in the morning getting ready untangling necklaces and looking for the other earring. This Week’s Etsy Finds are storage solutions that I have favorited over the past couple months. Stay until the end and see my own upcycled thrift store jewelry solution.
I was lucky enough to be gifted a hand-me-down filing cabinet. Recently my craft supplies have just outgrown my craft armoire. I was excited to have a new storage solution but I never imagined myself to have filing cabinet. I knew there had to be a way to spruce this up and give it new life.
With a lot of googling I managed to come across a slew of cabinets that had been painted and linen wrapped with fabric. This was exactly what I needed to do and it would actually turn into the accent color and piece I needed for my craft room I am putting together.
Happy Valentine’s Day from Weekend Craft! Just wanted to share some treats that my sister (from JennyBakes) and I made a few years back when we lived together. You can find the sugar cookie recipe here on Glorious Treats.
It’s that time again! Second Monday of the month and time for the Silhouette Challenge! This months theme is fabric. Read until the end and you will find 44 of my blogger friends and their projects!
Now hearing this months theme was intimidating. I am a crafter but I am not a sewer. It is actually on my list of something to learn but later… Let’s say 2015. I have seen so many of my favorite bloggers and crafting friends (Thinking Closet and TitiCrafty) using freezer paper as stencils. So I decided to give it a try with some tote bags I had bought at Joann’s on sale.
