Christmas Sangria ingredients

  • Bottle of Chilled Red Wine
  • Cranberry Juice
  • Pomegranate Juice
  • Orange Liqueur (Grand Marnier or Triple Sec)
  • Frozen or Fresh Cranberries
  • Orange Slices
  • Lime Slices
  • Rosemary Sprigs

How to make Christmas Sangria

In a large pitcher add orange slices, limes and cranberries. Combine red wine, cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, and orange liqueur. Stir and chill for at least an hour.

Pour over ice and garnish with an orange slice, frozen cranberries and rosemary. Garnish your sangria with rosemary. It’s the perfect festive addition. Not only does it look like pine but it also add a great herbaceous flavor.

Notes: Want to stretch it a little further add club soda, ginger ale or ginger beer right before serving. It adds a nice fizz to this festive Christmas sangria. Green apples also make a great addition to holiday drinks.

Best red wine for sangria

What’s the best wine for sangria? A dry red wine is usually best like a pinot noir. They dryness will balance out the sweetness. If you like a sweet sangria, which I do, use a red wine blend.

You don’t need to buy an expense bottle of red since you are mixing it with juice and fruit. I will usually grab around a $10 bottle of wine. I grabbed this bottle at Trader Joes.

Other great additions to this sangria would be apple, pears or pomegranate seeds. This sangria is also great year round. I have made it a different times of year I just leave out the sprigs of rosemary.
